Clifford Wise

Clifford Eugene Wise, Jr., 72, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center follow an extended illness.
He was born October 14, 1951 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Clifford Eugene and Barbara Katherine (Mitchell) Wise, Sr. On November 29, 2011, he married his beloved wife, Patsy Barrows-Wise who survives.
Also surviving are three grandsons, Patrick Barrows, Dakota Smith, and Colton Smith; nephew, Michael Chidester; great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Chidester, Jr., Abbagail Chidester, Riley Bousquet, Bristol Shaw, and Gatlin Shaw; his brother-in-law, Jim (Joyce) Eveland; beloved K-9 companion, Buddy; and numerous other extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Krystal Barrows; and two sisters, Vicki L. (Wise) Myers, and Pamela J. (Wise) Dennis.
Junior joined the United States Army at the age of 17, enlisting on October 30, 1968. During his time in the military, he served two tours in Vietnam before coming home on December 15, 1972. Following his active duty status, he joined the National Guard where he spent an additional 6 years of his life serving. He went on to obtain his Associates degree from the Ohio University in Athens, where he focused his studies around art and philosophy. In his free time, he enjoyed making ceramics, origami, and loved art. He was known for his great sense of humor and always enjoyed joking around with his family and friends.
A military graveside service conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Twin Township Cemetery.
