Clifford L. Brown, 67, of Chillicothe, died at 8:15am Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. Cliff was born July 22, 1945, in Chillicothe, to the late Ralph Clifford and Catherine Lottie (Willis) Brown. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Christine (Virgil) Bayless; Dorothy (Doug) Jones; brothers and sister-in-law Ralph L. (Rosemary) Brown; and Kenneth Brown, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; his caregivers, who were like family to him, Goldie Six, Missy Ramey, Willis Fugitt, Karen Black and Lori Bauer; and his dedicated friends from the radio station, especially Josh Koch and Dan Ramey. He was predeceased by sisters: Jacqueline Fyffe, Charlene Brown; an infant sister Elizabeth Brown, and an infant brother. Cliff was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He worked as a custodian for both the State of Ohio and for WKKJ/WBEX radio station, where he made many friends. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ohio State Buckeyes and was an avid country music fan. The family would like to thank the staff of Frontier Community Services and Adena Hospice. Although Cliff had his challenges, he never viewed himself as handicapped or disabled. He was proud of the independent life he lived. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 20, at the Haller Funeral Home with Adena Hospice Chaplain, Bruce Hines, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Following the committal service, family and friends are invited to return to First Baptist Church for a meal and fellowship. Friends may call Saturday from 10-11am at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to: Hospice of Adena Health System, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe; Southern Ohio Survivors, 32 ½ S. Paint St., Chillicothe; or the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-ROSS, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
