Clay Spires

Clay S. Spires Clay S. Spires, 69, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord, 1:25 am August 26, 2005, following a long battle with cancer. He was born October 4, 1935 to Jesse and Myrtle Stansberry Spires. On November 3, 1964 he married Annie M. Horsley, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Robin (Phillip) Rider; a son, Stephen (Bambi) Spires; four grandchildren, who he adored, Zack and Tia Spires, and Brittany and Baylee Rider; two step-grandchildren, Tara and Josh Chaney; two sisters, Mae Robinson and Mary Swindler; a brother, Joe (Martha) Spires and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oris, Warner, and Paul Spires. Mr. Spires was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over twenty years and had worked for Reynolds Aluminum. Clay truly enjoyed staying with, and taking care of people. He was a member of the Sunrush Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, in the Haller Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Benesh officiating. Burial will follow in Charleston Church Cemetery.
