Clarice Marie Martin, 83, of Frankfort, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at her home following an extended illness. She was born October 22, 1928, in Frankfort, to the late James and Retha Smith Schoonover. On November 26, 1947, she married Rev. Roger D. Martin, who preceded her in death on May 10, 2001. Affectionately known as "Sugie" to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Patricia Martin, Frankfort; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Mark Younge, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Joshua (Brandy) Younge, Columbus; Christian Younge, Chillicothe; step-grandson Michael (Emily) Brown, Chillicothe; great-grandson Jackson Younge; step-great-grandchildren Malachi and Isiah Brown; brother-in-law Glen Silcott; sister-in-law Eloise Gray; several nieces and nephews; and her long-term caregivers Barb Jones and Deb Kendall. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Silcott. Clarice was a longtime member of the First United Brethren Church, Columbus, OH, where she served as choir and music director. She was past-president of the Women's Missionary Society and helped establish the United Brethren Children's Youth Camp, serving as director for many years. She was the manager of the Chillrossco Credit Union servicing Chillicothe and Ross County schools and other small business groups until she retired following 25 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm Thursday (today) at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Brown, of Franklin United Brethren Church, New Albany, OH, officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family Friday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home.
