Clarence Edward "Ted" Edler, 79, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, following an extended illness. He was born January 10, 1939, to the late Edward and Olive Edler. On June 19, 1960, he married Shirley Ann (Miller) Edler, who preceded him in death on February 19, 2010. Ted is survived by his son, Ted Edward Edler and his wife Natoma "Toni" Edler; his grandson, Andrew C. Edler, and his wife Kelly Ann Edler; a great-grandson, Franklin "The Boss" Edward Edler; two brothers, Sanford Edler and Jack (Karen) Edler; three sisters, Janet Dalrymple, Glenda (Ivan) Leedy, and Cindy Miller; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a dear friend Larry Beavers, who he shared many a conversation and Pepsi with on the back porch. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Edler. Ted retired from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution and was previously employed at Big Bear in Central Center. He was also an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran. A military graveside service conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Pastor Ron Cottrill officiating. Friends and family will gather at the Kingston United Methodist Church for a celebration of life directly following the graveside service.
