Clara Ratcliff

Clara Jane Ratcliff, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away Sunday morning, April 8, 2018, at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born January 8, 1936, in Ross County to the late Harvey and Mary (Ross) Frazier. She went on to marry George A. Ratcliff, and together they shared 49 years of marriage before his death October 20, 2009. She is survived by her two children, George A. (Donna) Ratcliff, Jr., of McArthur, Ohio, and Jeri Lynne (Shawn) Sutton, of Chillicothe; 4 grandchildren, Lizabeth (Matt) Funderburgh, Caleb Ratcliff, M.G. Sutton, and C.J. Sutton; 9 great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Charlie Frazier. Clara and her husband George owned and operated George's Market for 20 years. She spent much of her free time volunteering for different charity organizations, the local school district, and even the Roweton Boys Ranch. She also loved to read, and was known for picking up trash along the roadways while walking to work. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Londonderry Cemetery. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
