Clara Lee

December 31, 1969 — February 19, 2009

Clara E. Locklear was born to William L. and Alberta Ruth (Wingo) Locklear on August 26, 1928. She was the first of four children. Clara sprinkled her love for humanity to everyone she met. Even by strangers she was called, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt or Sister. She met and united in holy matrimony Donald W. Jones (pre-deceased). From that union was born three children. Clara later married Ronald H. Lee (pre-deceased). She was a life long member of Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Harold Wingo. She served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Loyal Club, Busy Bee and Senior Choir. She was a Sunday school teacher, taught Vacation Bible School and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Marlynna Lee (John) Savage of Hampton, VA and Constance Joanne (Alan) Black of Dayton, OH; a sister, Esther M. Jones and a brother, Neal E. Locklear Sr., both of Chillicothe, OH; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and life long friends, Mural Rainey of Chillicothe, OH, Sue and Ronnie Hendrickson of Dayton, OH, Phyllis (Greg) Goddam of Dayton, OH, Pat (Tootie) Scales of Xenia, and Sherry (Tom) Vernon of Hampton, VA. Starting her new life with the Lord, Clara leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Glorious Church of God in Christ, 123 West Main Street and laid to rest following the services in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the church from 12 noon until the time of service.
