Christina J Rivers, 81, of Chillicothe, Ohio was born to Audrey and Donald Long (raised by stepfather Earl Poindexter).  She transitioned home on July 18, 2023. She was a committed believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ where she was a member since she was a little girl.
Christina lived a life of service and exhibited the true meaning of being a Christian. She worked to serve the people in the city of Columbus as a mental health specialist and later a relocation specialist Her service never stopped in her career. She was known to go the extra mile and was favored by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She would never see a person in need and not reach out to help. It was simply part of her DNA.
Christina was a wonderful mother of two children (Kevin Rivers) and Kelly Rivers of Columbus, Ohio.  She was the beloved sister of Sharon Maughmer and the proud Nana of 9 grandchildren: Christina, Tavon, (Malcolm), Austin, Kaley, Kevin Jr., Kyla, Deleah, and Destiny; and the great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren.  She was the loving aunt of (Melvitta) Melvin Jr., Mark, and Michael. She will be missed by numerous cousins who affectionately called her Aunt Teenie and so many members of the Netter-Hitchens family.
The funeral service will be held in her honor at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26 at the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ, 123 W. Main Street. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00a.m. until the time of the service. Repass will immediately follow the graveside services, located at the Bic; 261 Mechanic Street, Chillicothe, Ohio.
