Christina Duncan

Christina Duncan, 85, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.

She was born June 18, 1936 in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Hobart Patterson and Grace E. (Keel) Austin, Sr. On August 3, 1957, she married Garrett H. Duncan, and together they shared nearly 59 years of marriage before his passing May 25, 2016.

Surviving are her two children, Randy V. Austin and Renee Meeks; step-children, Bruce (Paula) Duncan, Michelle (Marvin) Ivory, Gregory (Bonita) Duncan, Denise Duncan, and Christy (Randy) Beverly; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; her siblings, Lovada Cousins, Mary Howard, Lucille (Bill) Lee, Nedra (Dana) Valentine, and William Hill; two sisters-in-law, Harold's wife, Donna Austin, and Chester's wife, Donna Austin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason S. Duncan; a sister, Norma Smith; her brothers, Harold Austin, Russell Austin, Hobart Austin and Chester Austin; a brother-in-law, Ronald Cousins, and a sister-in-law, Katherine Hill.

Christina attended the Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe for much of her life. She worked at the Kenworth Trucking Company in production for many years before retiring.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday October 8, 2021 at the Old Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe with Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
