Cheryl A. Lennox-Smith, 75, of Westerville, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away at 7:15am August 19, 2025, at Danbury Senior Living in Westerville, following an extended illness.
She was born on January 15, 1950, in Chillicothe. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1968. She retired from DFAS (Dept. of Defense) in Columbus where she worked as an accountant.
On May 26, 2012, she married Donald J. Smith, who survives and resides in Westerville; her daughters Kristina Lowe, of Pickerington, and Jaime Gibson, of Raleigh, NC; step-sons David (Jennifer) Lennox, of Michigan; and John (Jenn) Lennox, of Michigan; step-daughter Shannon (Alan) McGuire, of Carmel, IN; granddaughter Kaitlynn Lowe; step-grandchildren: Seijin and Brynne Lennox; and Charlotte, Norah, Isabel, and Ezra McGuire; her sister Karen Dennewitz; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather Anna and Bob Lewis; and her former husband Bill Lennox.
Cheryl had been a member of the United Methodist faith her entire life, having been a former member of Walnut St. UMC locally, where she sang in the choir. She and Don enjoyed 13 years together and enjoyed traveling. She was a dog lover, especially their pet Yorkies.
Her funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 23, at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ross Co.
