Cheryl Ann Knowles, 75, of Chillicothe, passed away early Thursday morning, April 18, 2024 at Legacy of Chillicothe, following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born September 23, 1948, in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Dana Bruce and Betty Jane (Mick) Burlile. On May 29, 1967, she married her beloved husband, Dr. Dennis David Knowles, and together they shared nearly 57 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children, Laura (Daniel) Stimmel, and Scott (Mandi) Knowles; four grandchildren, Aaron (Mariah) Stimmel, Austin Stimmel, Gabriel Knowles, and Marcus Knowles; a great-granddaughter, Aubrie Stimmel; as well as numerous other extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dena Goff.
Cheryl was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1966. She went on to work as an Office Manager for Eyes on Main Optical, where she retired after many years of employment with the family business. In her free time, she loved working on genealogy projects and was a member of the Ross County Genealogical Society. She also enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, sewing, knitting, and doll making. Cheryl was very patriotic and loved collecting Americana style décor. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, the Ross County Genealogical Society, or to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
