Charles Skaggs

Charles "Porky" Skaggs, 61, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his home in Springfield, OH. He was son of the late Ulysses S. Skaggs, Sr. and Rosie (Price) Skaggs. Charlie was born in Chillicothe OH. Charlie and Rhonda Skaggs were married for 16 years and lived in Springfield, OH. He retired from Kokosing Construction as a Union Carpenter in November 2015. Charlie joined Poe's Run United Baptist Church in Londonderry, Ohio, March 3, 1991. He loved the fellowship of the church and spending time with his family. In his spare time, Charlie loved to play golf. He was an example of Christ's love in how he lived his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Charlie is survived by his wife Rhonda; daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Mike Abbott, daughter and son Krista and Ryan; grandchildren: Jada and Luke, Alanys, Bladyn, Garrett, Brandon, and Abigail; sisters and brothers: Wanda Adams, Donald Sr. (Esther), John (Dianne) Skaggs, all of Chillicothe, Anna (Aaron) Overly, of Waverly, Rick (Pamela) Skaggs, of Chillicothe, Rodney (Kathy) Skaggs, of Tennessee, Mark (Carrie) Skaggs of Chillicothe, Ulyssess, Jr. (Jana) Skaggs of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ulysses Skaggs, Sr. and Rosie (Price) Skaggs; siblings: Harold Roger Skaggs, Esther Jane Miller, David A. Skaggs, and brothers-in-law: Bernard R. Adams, James L. Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10am Sunday, November 13, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastors Arvil Murray, Skip Stewart and Bobby Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 5-8pm at Haller's.
