Charles Evans Perry, Jr. passed on January 28, 2022, in Pinellas Park, FL, after a brief illness. He was born June 3, 1939, at home, in Wheelersburg, Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents, Hazel Lois Fry and Charles Evans Perry, Sr, former wife Peggy Louise Wills, brother Dale Perry, and grandson Travis Allen Hayburn. Surviving are his wife Sharon Marie Eley; daughters: Debra Lynn Donaldson (Jamie), Corda Michele Bolender (Chris) and Polly Jo Friend (Mark); and stepchildren: Jason Alan Witty (Veronica) and Jarrell Adam Witty (Shelly). He is also survived by his siblings: Gietta Puckett (John), Rowena Perry and sister-in-law Rita Perry. Also surviving are grandchildren: Charles Jacob Hayburn, Jennifer Elizabeth Perdew (Scott), Peggie Faye Arledge (Casey), Joshua Michael McFadden (Kaitlyn) and Evan Patrick Friend and step-grandchildren: Charlotte Marie Witty, James Alexander Witty, Liam Joseph Witty, Dillon Adam Witty, and Blaine Alexander Witty. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Luke, Logan and Cassie Perdew, Chloe and Cade McFadden, Jace and Raylee Arledge and Ace Ervin. Charles graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1957 and served as an E-4 radar operator in the U.S. Air Force 1958-1962 with overseas duty in Morocco. He was a very proud member of the Chillicothe Fire Department and retired as a captain after 21 years of service. He was also a broker/realtor with First Group Realty in Chillicothe for over 40 years. Charles was a member of the Scioto Lodge #6, Free and Accepted Masons (over 50 years), the American Legion, Post 62 and the VFW Post #108. He was also a life member of the AMVETS Post #4. Charles was baptized in 1995 and was a member of the Walnut Street Methodist Church in Chillicothe. He enjoyed all sports but was especially fond of shooting pool, playing his Martin guitar, and singing bluegrass songs handed down by his family in West Virginia. He will be missed by all his family and friends. A Celebration of Life and Masonic Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 25, Rev. Kevin Pigg officiating, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside services, and a Chillicothe Fire Department tribute will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.
