Charles Ralph Graves, 81, of Chillicothe, died at 6:00pm, Friday May 6, 2011, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1929, in Chillicothe, to the late Richard E. and Emma E. Graves. On March 7, 1953, he married the former Georgia L. Tackett, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Charma Blalock, of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren: Theresa Graves, Athens, OH; Charlie (Catherine) Blalock, Vancouver, WA; Richard W. Graves, Chillicothe; and a great-grandchild Lyric Graves. He was predeceased by his son, Richard M. Graves; brothers Cloyd, Chauncey, Clyde, and Clarence; and a sister Oma Dalrymple. Mr. Graves retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons having worked at prisons in Milan, MI; Tallahassee, FL and in Chillicothe. He also worked as a bailiff for the Chillicothe Municipal Court for ten years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 62; VFW, Post 108; and the AMVETS, Post 4. Charlie enjoyed traveling and loved to go fishing, especially with his buddy Delbert Cruitt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 11, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Tackett officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
