Charles R. Fleming, 78, of Chillicothe, passed away at 6:20pm Friday September 28, 2007, in Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, October 2, in the Haller Funeral Home with Evangelist James Rankhorn officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at Haller Funeral Home. Charlie was born February 28, 1929, in Pike Co., KY to the late John Henry and Trena Lou (Compton) Fleming. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Jean Shewalter Fleming. He was also predeceased by a brother James E. Fleming, Vergie, KY; and a sister Ruby Adkins, Lexington, KY. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Charles Edward (Tricia) Fleming, Chillicothe; son Frank Shewalter, Chillicothe; a daughter and son-in-law Mary (Tony) Parker, Farmersville, OH; grandchildren: Joe, Sarah, Josh, and Ashley; brother and sister-in-law William P. (Della) Fleming, of Florida; sisters Wonda Blankenship, Prestonburg, KY; Joyce C. Little, Chillicothe; Betty (Gene) Hurst, Dayton; and Loretta (Dave) Schrake, Chillicothe. Charlie retired from the Mead Paper Co. in 1992, where he worked as a Crew Chief. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sunrush Church of Christ, the Eagles Aerie 600, Moose 1626, AmVets Post 4, American Legion Post 62, and the VFW Post 108.
