Charles Cottrill

Charles Edward Cottrill, 88, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday afternoon, March 25, 2022 at the Heartland Nursing Home.
He was born June 18, 1933 in Chillicothe, son of the late Vernon B. and Virgil Ellen (Richter) Cottrill. On June 7, 1953, he married his beloved wife, Geneva (Kelley) Cottrill, who preceded him in death in 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Charles E. (Jayne) Cottrill, Jr., and Robert (Patricia) Cottrill; grandchildren, Chris (Adrienne) Cottrill, Becky Cottrill, Erin Casey (Eli Park) Cottrill, and Charleena Lucas; and great-grandchildren, Braeden Tyler Cottrill, Megan (Trace) Conley, Olivia A. Amato, Leanore Fay Park, Wyatt Park, David Paul Lucas, and Anthony E. Lucas. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Connely Dean Cottrill, and William Otis Cottrill; a grandson, Robert Cottrill; and his sister, Barbara Ellen Cottrill.
Charles was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea from August 26, 1953 to June 23, 1955. He went on to work at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for many years before retiring.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Farr officiating. Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Caldwell Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
