Charles L. Coppel, 59, of Chillicothe, died at his residence March 14, 2014, following a brief illness.   He was born December 1, 1954, in Chillicothe, to Donald F., Sr. and Patricia E. (Evans) Coppel. On June 12, 1992, he married the former Patricia A. Duke.   Charlie is survived by his wife, Patty A. Coppel, Dayton; daughter Kelli Coppel and her fiancée Jimmy Matthews; son Cole Coppel and his fiancée Penny Hall; his parents Don and Pat Coppel, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Landis Downs, Darrian Brown, Avery Anderson, Sophie Anderson, Cashius Coppel, Milton Beverly and Ellie Mae, expected in May; step-children: Tia (Dustin) Manring, Chillicothe; Ryan Steinway, Dayton; Heidi (Chris) LeBlanc, Germany; brothers: Donald F., Jr. "Pete" (Lisa C.) Coppel, of Austin, TX; and Stephen D. (Lisa A.) Coppel, Chillicothe; and many nieces, nephews and cousins including Christopher D. Coppel, Madison L. Coppel, Joe Coppel and Sam Coppel. He was predeceased by his son Landis M. Coppel.   Charlie was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1972. He worked for over 40 years at Coppel Coal & Supply Co. He was a member of B.P.O.E., (Elks) Lodge 52. Charlie enjoyed fishing, loved traveling to the ocean and swimming in the ocean, but especially enjoyed being with his grandkids.   Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, March 20, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
