Charles H. Cartwright, 83, of Chillicothe, died 11:40 am, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born January 30, 1927, in Pike Co., to Everett and Ruby Mitchell Cartwright. On May 5, 1951 he married the former Barbara Jane Hester, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Tim (Betsy) Cartwright and Jani (John) Picklesimer, both of Chillicothe; Craig Cartwright, of Frankfort, and Mark (Kim) Cartwright, of Dayton; his grandchildren, Tiffany Cartwright, Brandi Potts, Brad Thompson, Ashley Wiseman, and Lindsay Cartwright; his great-grandchildren, Madi and Emi Potts; his sisters, Norma Jean Siddons, Mary Jane Hatmaker, Pat (Henry) Barlow, and Linda Cartwright. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Flossie Robinson and Evelyn Cartwright; and a brother, Wilbur Cartwright. Mr. Cartwright was a US Navy World War II veteran. He retired from the Mead Paper Corporation in 1989. He dedicated a great deal of his time to youth little league baseball, having coached numerous children during his lifetime. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Rev. Steven Schmidt officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Sunday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co.
