Charlene P. "Cheri" Neff, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on February 7, 2026, following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Though she fought bravely until the very end, God called her home, and she entered His presence in peace.
Born on October 1, 1955, Cheri lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted servant of the Lord and a faithful member of Original Glorious Church. Even when she could no longer attend services in person, Cheri continued worship faithfully by watching church services online from her home.
Cheri retired from the Scioto Valley Mental Health Center after 31 years of dedicated service. She was known for her kind heart, welcoming spirit, and for never meeting a stranger.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy. She also dearly loved her "baby dog", Bella.
Cheri is survived by her children; Steven (Michelle) Jackson, Jeremy (Jenny) Brown, Chaz Cain, and Brittany Cain; grandchildren, Rasean Jackson, Noah (Nicole) Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Mackenzie Brown, Shai' Brown, Paris Brown, Nia Brown, Jaiden Cain, Adrian Crumpton, Roman Crumpton, Jayceon Crumpton, Jeremy Cain, Jason Riley, and Chaz Cain Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ayden, and Kayson Jackson.
She is also survived by her sister, Toni (Danny) Cooper; her special uncle who was more like a brother, Jerry Carpenter; special uncles, David Carpenter, Danny Carpenter, and Ricardo Carpenter; nieces, Tamika Cooper and Tiara Wingo; nephews, Aaron Cooper and Jerry Carpenter Jr.; and a host of cousins, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gloria Jackson; her husbands, Timothy Neff, Mike Cain, and Jerry Brown; her brother, Kevin Bayless; and her beloved grandson, Jeremy Brown Jr.
Cheri loved the Lord deeply and lived her life guided by faith, kindness, and love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A service will be held on February 21, 2026 at 1:00pm, at the Original Glorious Church of God, 123 W Main St. Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. Family will receive friends from 12:00pm until the time of service.
