Cecilia Ann Jackson, 83, of Chillicothe, died 2:44 pm, October 4, 2022 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born February 4, 1939 in Chillicothe to the late Cecil and Mary Ann Pettiford Medley. On March 12, 1966 she married George Jackson, who died April 17, 2018. Survivors include three sisters, Rosemary Ghoston, Dayton, Jacqueline (Spencer) Netter and Patti (John) Harding, both of Chillicothe; a brother, Tony Medley; step-children, George Jackson and Robert Jackson, Columbus; step-grandchildren, Rina and Corey Reid, Anita Lambert, William and Rosheda Haile; nieces and nephews, Deanne Miller, Bryan Netter, John "Chip" Harding Jr., Troy Harding, Shawn Smith, Indica and Trevor Medley, Vince Benton, Sherri Williams, and Monica Steed; and numerous great, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Deborah Reid.
Mrs. Jackson, known to many as "Chee Chee," grew up in Chillicothe and moved to Columbus after graduating high school. She was employed for over 30 years by the State of Ohio Department of Commerce in Computer Technology. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, bowling, and researching genealogy. Following her retirement, she returned to Chillicothe and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Quinn Chapel, AME Church and the Janus 54 Club. At Quinn Chapel she served as a stewardess, and on the Kitchen Committee.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2022 at Quinn Chapel AME Church, Rev. Victor Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, or one hour prior to the funeral, at the church.
