Catherine S. Weisenberger, 101, of Chillicothe, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born August 27, 1919 in Bremen, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Schmelzer) Boch. On May 12, 1945, she married Karl Francis Weisenberger, who preceded her in death February 7, 1957.
She is survived by her four children, Karl (Brenda) Weisenberger, Miss Elizabeth Weisenberger, Edward (Donna) Weisenberger, and Leon (Laura) Weisenberger; grandchildren, Darin Weisenberger, Lisa (David) Moore, Micah Weisenberger, Angela (Les) Chaffin, William Wolfe, Matt Wolfe, Jason (Lisa) Weisenberger, Karl (Cassie) Weisenberger, Josh Weisenberger, Kevin Weisenberger, Andrew Weisenberger, Mary (Austin) Mathis, and Kim (Jamie) Kohlbecker; 13 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Richard (Ginny) Boch, and Jeanne (Bill) Stoker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sister Romaine Boch, Romaine (Roman) Lokai, Ruth (Johnny) Johnson, and Mary (Dave) Johnson and Grace (Ralph) Deeds.
Catherine worked at the Adena Hospital as the secretary to the Director of Nurses, where she retired in 1981. She was a proud member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Chillicothe since 1945. She loved attending church functions and participated in numerous clubs, organizations, and activities within the church. She was one of the original founders and an original board member of the Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Chillicothe. She was also a charter member of the Area Artist Series. In her free time, she enjoyed playing the piano, and also loved to travel. She enjoyed going to different historical sites across the country and traveled to 48 states. But her Catholic faith and family was her everything in life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Milton Kiocha, Celebrant, and Rev. Brian Beal, Concelebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday evening at the Haller Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 protocols in place, guests in attendance must wear facial coverings at all times while in the building.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the home healthcare aids, nurses, and Dr. Seidensticker, for all the love and care shown over the last several months.
