Catherine Schucker

Catherine L. "Kitty" Schucker, 76, of Chillicothe, died at 3:30pm Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Traditions of Bristol Village, Waverly, following an extended illness.   She was born August 29, 1935, in Washington D.C. to the late Walter Michael and Maude Louise Viehmann Shea.   On July 10, 1965, she married Karl W. Schucker, who preceded her in death June 27, 2000.   Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law Aimee M. Schucker, Hilliard; Lynne A. (Matthew) Robinson, Chillicothe; Barbara J. Schucker, Hilliard; granddaughter Olivia Robinson, Chillicothe; a sister Margaret "Mickie" Bohn, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Patricia Bohn.   Kitty was a graduate of Catholic Central, Class of 1953.   She then received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati.   She taught fourth grade at central elementary, retiring in 1998 following over 30 years.   She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the AAUW, the Chillicothe Education Assoc. and the Ross Co. Teachers Assoc.   She enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing and cooking.   She belonged to a couples Bridge Marathon for many years and Kitty was the recipient of the Chillicothe Catholic Schools Distinguished Alumni Award from Bishop Flaget in 2001.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, August 25, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fr. William Hahn, Celebrant.   Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.   Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8pm.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Team Kitty Alzheimer's Walk at http://act.alz.org/site/ TR/Walk/ OH-CentralOhio?px=3998048&p g=personal&fr_id=1346
