Catherine Richter

Catherine Theresa Richter, 84, of Chillicothe, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Fairfield Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born August 26, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Anna McGuire Matteo. On October 21, 1950, she married David Allen Richter Sr., who died December 22, 2007. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law David Allen (Beth) Richter, Jr.; granddaughters Elyse and Ciara Richter, all of Canal Winchester, OH; a sister, Joanne (Tom) Jones, Pine Hill, NJ; a brother-in-law, Gene Whaley, Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews; a step-granddaughter Stephanie Blake and step-great-granddaughter Amaya Marie, of Toledo; a step-grandson Brandon Blake, Ft. Campbell, KY; special friends Red and Marie Baer, Chillicothe; and her faithful, loving 4-legged companion "Angel". She was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores (Herbert) Maxvitat; brothers-in-law Tom Jones, Herbert Maxvitat, and Harold (Shorty) Richter; and sisters-in-law, Joan (Gene) Whaley and Audrey (Harold) Richter. Mrs. Richter was a very devoted wife and loving Mother. Her family was her most precious gift. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial, followed by burial in St. Margaret Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
