Catherine Mcwhorter

Catherine Joann McWhorter, went to be with her Lord Jesus after a courageous six month battle with cancer, March 23, 2015. She was born July 15, 1944 in Ross Co. to the late Henry and Elsie Gaines Bennett. On August 7, 1962 she married Roger L. McWhorter, who survives. Also surviving are her three daughters, Rogenia (Richard) Chaffin and Cheryl Turner, both of Chillicothe, and Sonie (Roger) Butler, of Circleville; six grandchildren, Ryan and Richelle (fiancé Jon Stewart) Chaffin, Jacob and Megan Turner, and Alivia and Braeden Butler; five sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mrs. McWhorter was a member of Brookside Church. She retired from Sears and was owner/operator of Ceramics Plus Studio and Military Surplus stores. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookside Church Seniors, 2215 Egypt Pike, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
