Catharine Jeffords

Catharine "Katy" M. Jeffords, passed away on November 20, 2015, following a brief illness. Katy was born March 6, 1924, in Monongahela, PA, to the late Henry S. and Elizabeth (Blankenbuehler) Meredith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Reep in 1971; and by her second husband, Lloyd G. Jeffords in 1987. Surviving are her daughter Leslie K. (William) Larson, of Columbus; son William H. Reep, Jr., of Chillicothe; daughter-in-law Terressa Reep, of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jennifer Brandenburg, of Galloway, OH; Meredith (Andy) Tomlinson, of Chillicothe; Jenny Dennis, of Groveport, OH; and Chad (Megan) Dennis, of Canal Winchester, OH; five great-grandchildren: Olivia Brandenburg; Grace and Maeve Tomlinson; Benjamin Dennis; and Paige Dennis. Katy was a registered nurse at Adena Regional Medical Center, where she retired in 1986. A graduate of Presbyterian Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA, and the BSN program at Ohio University. In 1980, she completed the Enterostomal Therapy Education Program at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, and became a certified therapist. She was active in several nursing organizations including the Ross County District Ohio Nurses Association and the International Association of Enterostomal Therapy. Katy was named Nurse of the Year in 1980 by the Ross Co. District ONA. In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated under the direction of Haller Funeral Home and Crematory. Calling hours will not be observed. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
