Carroll Brown

Carroll E. Brown, 79, of Chillicothe, died 7:35 am, Thursday, September 22, 2016, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born April 2, 1937 in Chillicothe to the late Ralph and Daisy Streitenberger Brown. On February 28, 1959 he married Ruth Scott Brown, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Candy (Keith) Wilson and Greg (Terri) Brown, of Chillicothe, Melissa (Greg) Dunn, of Kingston, and Heather (Joe) Cowman, of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren, Jordan (Lindsay) Brown, Logan Wilson, Jake (Allie) Brown, Kacie (Chris) Lytle, Doug Dunn, Hannah (Grant Warner) Cowman, Kelsie Cowman, and Rose Cowman; and nine great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Journey, and Jetta Brown, Josie, Matthew, and Levi Brown, Hunter, Trapp and Axel Lytle. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Wilhelm and a brother, Ralph Brown. Mr. Brown was a 1955 graduate of Unioto High School, attended Brookside Church and was a past member of Frankfort Lodge 309 and current member of Scioto Lodge 6 F & AM. He worked at Chilpaco, Rubbermaid and retired from Chillicothe PPG. He was an avid golfer, and loved to travel and fish. He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker, having built the family home and various pieces of furniture. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Ralph Hux and Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Friends may call 3-6 pm Saturday at Haller's, where a Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 pm, or one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday.
