October 13, 1953 — October 3, 2023

Carolyn Arlene Proehl, 69, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023 at the

Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born October 13, 1953 in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Paul Richard and Phyllis (Cooper)

Proehl.



Surviving are her siblings, Sharon (Michael) Irvin, Michael (Sharon) Proehl, and Pam (the late David)

Proehl; nieces and nephews, Dustin (Holly) Proehl, Stacey (Steve) Hart, Kimberly (Matthew) Stark, Karen

(Brian Sawyer) Black, Kristal (Matthew) Spetnagel, Brian Proehl, and Joey (GiGi) Proehl; special close

friends, Lois (Robert) Duffy; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nephews,

extended family members and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a

sister, Janet Proehl, and her two beloved dogs, Gidget and Timmy.



Carolyn was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1972. She went on to attend the

Southeastern Business College, where she graduated with her Associates in accounting. In her free time,

she loved taking trips down to Tennessee to spend time in the Smoky Mountains. Some of her favorite

memories was spending time with her family and friends in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. When

she wasn't traveling, she was focusing on taking care of others. Her nieces, nephews, and family was her

greatest joy. She also enjoyed crocheting and making crafts with her mom.



The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Traditions as well as the Adena

Hospice Staff for their love and care during this difficult time.



A private celebration of life service will be held on Monday, October 16 th , 2023 with Pastor Jeremy

Schinkle officiating. A Private Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Good Samaritan Fund C/o Dr. Hugh Dresbach, North

Court Animal Clinic,, 1130 N Court St, Circleville OH 43113 or the Adena Hospice would be appreciated

by the family.
