Carolyn Hughes

Carolyn Sue Hughes, 66, of Chillicothe, died 4:45 pm, Monday, March 25, 2013, at her home, following an extended illness. She was born June 23, 1946 in Chillicothe to the late Dwight and Lucille Baker. On August 31, 1963 she married Timothy A. Hughes, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Kelli (John) Slack, of Columbus, and Toni (Eric) Austin and Penni (Paul) Woods, both of Chillicothe; a grandson, Clint Austin; step-grandchildren, Meghan McNichols and Amanda Woods; a sister, Wanda (Kenny) Blevins, and a brother, George (Judy) Baker, both of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. Carolyn retired from General Electric in 2002. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known as "BIG C", and known for her Sunday dinners. Private graveside services will be held Friday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home.
