Carol Nunley

Carol Sue Nunley, 75, of Chillicothe, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at 5:40pm on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Signature Healthcare Nursing Home in Chillicothe, surrounded by her family. She was born March 1, 1941, to the late Rev. Charles and Myrtle Nunley. Carol leaves behind the father of her children, Everett E. Sams Jr.; her children, Patty (Steve) Richards, Samelia McCray, and Everett E. (Dewi) Sams III; her 10 grandchildren, Autumn (Larry) Johnson, A.J., Ashley, Bernie, and Georgia McCray, Tiffany and Ryan (Sarah) Richards, David, Abby, and Ariel Sams; 4 great-grandchildren, Carson and Kate Richards, and Greenley and Danileigh Kidder; her siblings, Charles (Ann) Nunley, Charlotte Elliott, Virginia (Steve) Beeler, Hilda Pyles, Rev. John (Karen) Nunley, Eldon (Carolyn) Nunley, and Judi Dempsey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Samelia Jane and Howard Edward Nunley. Carol was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She attended Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church, and she was an avid reader. But more than anything, she loved watching her grandkids play sports and rarely missed their games. She greatly enjoyed cheering them on from the stands. The family would like to thank those who came to visit or sent cards, and to those at Signature Health Care and Adena Hospice for their care during her illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
