Carol Gatten

Carol A. Gatten, of Chillicothe, passed away on her 85th birthday, August 13, 2024, at her home following an extended illness.  She was born August 13, 1939, in Ross County to the late Bert and Gladys (Cuckler) Curtis.  On September 16, 1959, she married James Gatten, who survives.

Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn (Mike) Charney; grandchildren Amanda (Joe) Herrik and John Charney; a great-grandson Theodore Herrik; brothers Jim and Tim Curtis; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Jerry Gatten; her brother Bob Curtis; and sister Jan Ray.

The family sends out a special thanks and gratitude to Adena Hospice and caregiver Tami Kraynek for their care and compassion to Carol and the family.

In accordance with her wishes, a private burial was held in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
