Carol S. Creed, 69, of Chillicothe, died at 3:30pm Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon, following an extended illness. She was born May 7, 1944, in Versailles, IN, to the late Denzel and Anna (Schauer) Shelton. On May 29, 1961, she married the love of her life, Ronald G. Creed, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Natalie (Russell) Creed, Chillicothe; sons and daughters-in-law Richard Bryan Creed, Blue Ash, OH; Jeff (Tracey) Creed; Tony (Gail) Creed, all of Chillicothe; Nick (Wanda Campbell) Creed, Fredericksburg, VA; 13 grandchildren: Bryan, Matt, Seth, Kara, Jessica, Caleb, Nicole, Derek, Takeo, Alyia, Breelyn, Davey and Caitlin; 3 great-grandchildren: Emmalyn, Gavin and Kendall; sisters Ruth Ann (Bill) Wilfong, Indianapolis, IN; and Terri Barger, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother George Shelton; a sister Huberta Shelton; and a niece Sydney Shelton. Carol was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved being with her family, especially the kids and grandkids. She loved all animals and many stray cats and dogs adopted her and Ron through the years. They also fed the birds every day and loved to spend time together bird watching. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Sunday at Trinity UMC with Pastor Kurt King officiating. Friends may call from 2-4pm Sunday at Trinity. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
