Carol D. (nee Ross) Basye, 73, of Frankfort, stepped inside God's heavenly kingdom on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born May 3, 1950, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Glen and Vivian (Speakman) Ross. On January 31, 1976, she married her beloved husband, Rodger Basye, who survives.
Also surviving is her son, Chad (Sabrina) Newland; step-son, Shawn Basye; grandchildren, Cassandra Newland, Marisa D. Newland, Kahlynn Lambert-Newland, and Jaxon Newland; her two sisters, Connie (Lou) Watson, and Marsha (Lanny) Claytor; and a brother-in-law, Benny Hopkins; all of Chillicothe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Ross; and two brothers, Daniel Ross, and Donald Ross.
Carol was a graduate of Huntington High School, class of 1968. She went on to attend the Hocking College, where she graduated with a degree in nursing. Carol worked at the Chillicothe VA Hospital as an RN, where she retired following many years of service. She was also a faithful member of the Bethel Chapel Christian Union Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service on Friday.
