Carlis Tackett

Carlis Henry "Carl" Tackett, 56, of Chillicothe, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born May 2, 1956 in Boone Co. WV to the late Carlos J. and Janice Lafferty Tackett. On August 31, 1991 he married the former Theresa Anne Cole, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Daniel Tackett, Columbus, Brian (Jennifer) Tackett, Logan, Jennifer (Dan) Hamblin, Reynoldsburg, and Samantha (Harold) Rodgers, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Victoria Hritz, James Hamblin, Lillie Tackett, Katie Hamblin, Hannah Rodgers, Aiden Tackett and Jason Rodgers; brothers and sisters, Dwayne Tackett, Robin Taylor, Teresa Conley, Jerry Tackett, Sybil Baldwin and Robert Tackett; his mother-in-law, Bea Wooten; several nieces and nephews; many loving extended family members, including a special sister-in-law, Tina Reiland; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandmother, who raised him, Mildred "Minnie" Lafferty; and his father-in-law, James Wooten. Mr. Tackett was a truck driver for the Ryder Company. He loved to fish, hunt, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed his Ford F 150. The family would like to thank Adena Hospice for their excellent care during his illness. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Wednesday at Haller's.
