Carl Overly

Carl E. Overly, 82, of Chillicothe, died 4:45 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2009, in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness. He was born July 5, 1926 in Ross Co. to Lewis E. and Christena Overly. He married Helen M. Jardine, who died in January of 1993. Survivors include his children: Bill Overly, of Piketon; Donn Overly; Jennifer (Ron) Nichols, all of Chillicothe; Chris (Skip) Overly, of Trenton, OH, and Pete Overly, of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother; and six sisters. Mr. overly retired as a Building Maintenance Supervisor with the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1992. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and an antique collector. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday in the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
