Carl Jones

Carl W. Jones, Sr., 81, of Waverly, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 6:17pm Wednesday, January 12, 2011, in his home following an extended illness. He was born March 28, 1929, in Ross Co. to the late Navy M. and Sally V. Hatfield Jones. He is survived by his daughter Carla McKee, Waverly; 4 grandchildren: Lawrence James (Brittany) Jones; John Wesley McKee; Eva Charmaine (Dale) Smith; Billy Lyons; 3 great-grandchildren: Anastasia Smith, Gracelynn Jones; Jayden Jones; a brother and sister-in-law Doug (Dorothy) Jones, Chillicothe; a sister and brother-in-law Hannah (Clyde) Valentine, Oberlin, OH; and a special friend Joe Gee. He was predeceased by his son Carl W. Jones, Jr.; brothers George, Don, Howard, Wesley and Sonny Jones; and sisters Juanita Wright; Marjorie Smith; and Bonnie Jones. Carl had attended Huntington Schools and was an Honorably Discharged Korean Army Veteran. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 18, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Ollie Burton officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 1 hour prior to the funeral at Haller's.
