Carl Hitchens

Carl M. Hitchens, 71, of Frankfort, died at 11:53am December 29, 2023, at his residence.



He was born November 17, 1952, in Chillicothe, the son of Elding E. Lee and Patricia A. (Hitchens) Ragland.  On April 16, 1971, he married the former Toni L. Beverly, who survives.



Also surviving are his son Carl M. (Tracey) Hitchens II; his daughter Alexandria (Blue) Ewing, both of Frankfort; grandchildren: Michael (Chelsey) Hitchens, Carley (Drew) Hitchens, Cayden Hitchens, Ajani Ewing, Swayze Ewing, Blaize Ewing, Aaliyah Ewing; great-grandchildren: Brayden Harsha, Adrianna Hitchens, Tyson Hitchens, Braxton Miller and Tatum Miller; his brother Wilbur Lee; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Carl was predeceased by his mother; his father; his step-father Franklin Ragland; a sister; and two brothers.



Carl was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and had worked as a concrete mason.  He was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church and the Ionic Lodge 6, F & AM.  Carl loved music and especially enjoyed playing bass guitar.



His funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, January 4, at Quinn Chapel AME Church, with Rev. Victor Davis officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Thursday at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
