Carl Raymond Henderson, 81, of Frankfort, passed away on Friday afternoon, June 13, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born May 13, 1944 in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late Carl and Emma (Bell) Henderson. On October 23, 1976, he married his beloved wife, Theresa (Parrett) Henderson, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, David (Trisha) Henderson, and Mark Henderson; his beloved grandchildren, David Henderson, Jr., Abigail Henderson, and Gracie Henderson; his siblings, Dick Henderson, Mike Henderson, and Mollie Geno; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Willis "Spud" Henderson, and two brothers, Jim Henderson and Greg Henderson.
Carl was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict and many years after; earning the title of Master Sergeant. He went on to have a lengthy career at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, where he retired from the Electric Shop after 28 years of employment. Carl was baptized at the Bainbridge Church of Christ, where he enjoyed attending services until his health prevented him from going. He was also a member of the Scioto Valley Amateur Radio Club. In his free time, he loved going fishing, especially in his younger years with David. He also loved flying model air planes with his son and spending time on the family farm.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside honors will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
