Candice M. (DuBuque) Reed, 64, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, following a brief battle with leukemia.
She was born August 25, 1960, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, daughter of the late Bryan and Shirley DuBuque. She married her beloved husband, James Gillette, and together they shared over 13 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.
Also surviving is her beloved daughter, Donitza Fuentes; her grandchildren whom she cherished, Keegan, Goucher, and Declan; her siblings, Teresa Ballew, Sherry Sherrer, Eddie Swale, and Joshua Lovell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Rodriquez.
Candice was an adventurous soul, who loved spending her time by the ocean. Whether it was scuba diving, boating, sailing or simply taking trips with family and friends, her heart was drawn to the coast. She also loved simply being outdoors; hiking, rock climbing, and being in nature was her passion. But most of all, she loved being able to spend time with the people in her life that meant the most. She lived each and every day to the fullest. Her dash was an adventure.
A Celebration of Life for Candice will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Haller Funeral Home. Friends may join the family for visitation from 2:00pm until the time of the service. In accordance with her wishes, following services, cremation will be performed. Her husband and daughter will then accompany her back to the West Coast, taking her on one last sail boat ride.
