Candace S. "Candy" Dade, 62, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord at 1:25pm on Friday, May 22, 2009, at home following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born January 11, 1947, in Chillicothe to the late Robert William and Mary Ann Jones Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Robin (Patrick) Beard and Candace M. Dade, all of Chillicothe; three loving grandchildren: Brooklynn Pannell, Tre Beard and Demetrius Dade; a sister Bobbi Ann Lee, Lafayette, LA; 4 brothers: David K. Brown, Columbus; Tyrone Ferguson and Robert Brown, both of Detroit, MI; and Terry Boydston, Chillicothe; an aunt, Lucretia Cole, Chillicothe; a special aunt, Mary Jones, Hammond, IN; two special nieces whom she helped raise, Toya L. Lee, Columbus; Brandee Jordan, Chillicothe; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Paul A. Brown; her grandparents Edward, Sr. and Norma J. Jones; aunts Frances Jordan and Barbara Sue Jones; uncles Fr. James Jones, Edward Jones, Jr., and Robert Jones. Candy was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and was employed by the US Enrichment Corporation for 31 years. She was a member of the singing group "Bobbie Pins" which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was also a member of Zion Baptist Church, 84 S. Clinton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted at 6:00pm Wednesday, May 27, with Pastor J. Troy Gray officiating. Friends may greet the family from 4pm until 6pm Wednesday at the church. Graveside services will be conducted at 10am Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Koman Cancer Foundation.
