Cameron Mead, 17, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born April 22, 2004 in Ross County.
He is survived by his mother, Carrie Mead; his father, Alan Mead; and legal guardian and grandmother, Nancy J. Byers. Also surviving are brothers, Tyler Byers (20), and Tre Mead (10); a sister, Lauren (Clayton Alflen) Byers (19); his beautiful 9 month old daughter, Kaliana Jolene; his daughters mother, Selena Henderson (16); lifelong best friend, Renee Gibson (17); his girlfriend, Autumn VanHooser (17); uncles, Chris (Mitzi) Byers, and Casey (Mindy) Byers; cousins, Cami and Rylan Byers, Emily Vanbuskirk, Olivia Arledge, Caleb Byers, and Madison Wellman; close family friends, Chris and Angie Alflen, along with their daughter Aaliyah Alflen; as well as numerous others. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Timothy L. Crawford, who raised him.
Cameron attended Unioto High School where he gained his love for soccer. He was also involved in many sports during the years he attended. He was employed by Kohls Department Store, where he gained many memories and a work family. His main happiness was being with and spending time with his family. Cameron was the sweetest person you would meet with an infectious smile. Many have described him as just seeing him one time, but he made an impression on them forever. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were blessed to know him.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call 11:00 – 1:00 Saturday at Haller's. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Ross Co. Suicide Prevention Coalition, and/or the GoFundMe set up for Cameron.
