Calvin Winks

Calvin E. Winks, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday September 7, 2006. He was born July 17, 1924, in Chillicothe to Hugh and Amy (Shasteen) Winks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Juanita (Murray) Winks. He is survived by his son Randy Winks and daughter-in-law Veronica, of Chillicothe; granddaughters Valerie (Jesse) Warnock of Columbus and Tiffany Winks of Myrtle Beach SC. Also surviving are a brother, Robert; sisters Mrs. Jack (Leona) Flack and Mrs. Russell (Emma) Suttles and brother-in-law Gerald (Darlene) Murray, sister-in-laws Mrs. Ralph (Genevieve) Clark, Mrs. Robert (Edith) Winks and Mrs. Russell ( Norma ) Winks; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; many friends and "Yukon". He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Helen Frey, and brothers Walter, William, and Russell Winks and sister-in-laws Elwanda Doyle , Margie Kinney and Pauline Winks and brother-in-laws Michael Frey, Jack Flack and Russell Suttles. Mr. Winks retired from Wear-Ever in 1982 after 34 years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran. Owner and operator of Valley House Restaurant from 1978 to 1987 and held an Ohio Auctioneers License for over 40 years. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm .Tuesday September 12, 2006 in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Jack Norman and Pastor Mel Smith officiating and the eulogy by Frank "Buzz" Perry. Graveside services will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday at Haller Funeral Home.
