Charlotte "Jeannie" (Kelly) Burris, 69, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She died at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 7, 1944, in Harriman, TN, to Rev. Charles W. and the late Mary (Evans) Kelly. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Rev. John H. Burris, with whom she shared 49 blessed years of marriage. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Through her sweet, caring spirit and faithful Christian witness, she touched many lives. She is survived by her husband, John Burris; sons Jeffery (Justine) Burris, of Clarksville, TN; and Joel (Ann) Burris, of Cambridge, OH; eight grandchildren: Adrian (Ashley) Burris and Nathaniel Burris, of Clarksville, TN; Jeremy Burris, of Somerville, AL; and Noah, Alexis, Haylee, Hunter and Caden Burris, of Cambridge, OH; one great-grandchild, Dakota Burris, of Clarksville, TN; her father, Rev. Charles W. Kelly, of Rockwood, TN; a brother, Rev. Jasper Greg Kelly, of Maryville, TN; a sister Sharon Barker, of Spring, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends throughout the country. A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm Friday, January 24, at the Chillicothe Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Jones officiating. Friends may call from 1-5pm Friday at the church. Burial will be held in Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, TN. Arrangements are under the direction of HALLER FUNERAL HOME. A brief visitation for family and close friends will be held from 2-3pm Sunday January 26, at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, TN, immediately prior to the interment.
