Brian P. Smith, 20, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2005, following an accidental drowning. He was born January 15, 1985, in Ross Co. to Gene Smith and the former Edith L. Boyer. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Edith (Richard, Sr.) Park; father and step-mother, Gene (Bethany) Smith, all of Chillicothe; brothers Christopher (and fiancee Leslie Pryor) Smith and Matthew Smith; a half-sister Sarah Park; half-brothers Caleb Smith and Kevin Park; a step-sister Janaca (James) Moss; step-brothers Richie (Janjietta) Park, Jr.; Jason (Amy) Park; Danny (Billi Jo) Park; Aaron (Tammy) Spriggs, Justin (Poppy) Spriggs; maternal grandmother Opal Boyer; paternal grandmother Mary Smith-Puckett; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, George Boyer; paternal grandfather Willard H. Smith; and an aunt, Janet S. Jordan. Brian was a former member of Cornerstone Church and active member with Christian Life Tabernacle, where he played guitar in the church band and sang in the choir. He was baptized in Jesus' name and a Holy Ghost filled believer. Brian was a 2004 graduate of Adena High School and was enrolled in the Pickaway-Ross JVS Carpentry Program. He ran cross-country, track, and played baseball. He also really enjoyed fishing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 13, 2005, at Haller Funeral Home, with Pastor Phil Rutherford and Pastor John Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
