Brian Moore

Brian Holly Moore, 76, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday night, July 11, 2024, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born February 29, 1948, in Dayton, Kentucky, son of the late Donald and Esther (Twaddell) Moore. On June 11, 1977, he married his beloved wife, Linda E. (Barnhart) Moore, and together they shared nearly 45 years of marriage before her passing on February 25, 2020.
Surviving are their two sons, Jonathan B. Moore and Christopher H. Moore; a grandson, Ian C. Moore; two siblings, Marianna Jordan and Alan Moore; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Bruce Moore and L. Kendall Moore.
Brian was a graduate of Dayton High School, class of 1966. He went on to attend the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, where he graduated with his Bachelor's of Music in 1970. Brian devoted much of his life and free time to music, serving as the Choir Director with St. Peter Catholic Church and also playing the organ for both St. Mary's in Chillicothe and Waverly. He also spent time playing piano for the local community theater in the early 2000's. He later became a member of the choir at St. Peter's, where he received love and support from the members following the passing of Linda. In his earlier years, Brian devoted a large portion of his free time to the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Scout, Youth Leader, Adult Leader, and finally a Scout Master.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Haller Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place in St. Margaret Cemetery at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Brians honor to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
