Brenda Dardinger

Brenda Joyce Dardinger went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2024 at the age of 73. Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on April 29, 1951 to the late Onslo and Margaret (Hess) Hurt.
She is survived by her husband Steve Dardinger, her children, Jeff Dardinger, Brian (Amy) Dardinger all of Chillicothe, OH and Wendi (Josh) Dines of Twinsburg, OH; her grandchildren, Stephen Dardinger, Bernadette Dardinger, Richard Dardinger, Claudia Dardinger, Taylor Angus, Zoey Dardinger, Kate Dardinger, Noah Dardinger, Abbi Dines and Avery Dines; 3 great grandchildren, nephews and many other family and friends.
Brenda was a 13-year veteran of Centerburg Schools and spent 1 year at The Ohio State University. She was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star in Mount Vernon, OH. Brenda was always involved in activities and belonged to 2 bridge clubs and helped teach new players the game. She enjoyed a bible study group that met every week to study the Word and to support one another. They celebrated birthdays, had teas and just enjoyed each other and life. For 30+ years Brenda was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Chillicothe, OH where she served on council, taught catechism and served as ministry coordinator. She was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Grove City, OH for a short time and was a current member of Groveport Zion Lutheran Church in Groveport, OH. Brenda's passion was first to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, studying the Word and worshipping God. She then went into the world to serve others. She worked for Duffy Electric in Chillicothe for a number of years and then worked at the Ross County Water Company. When she retired from working, she of course kept working and volunteered at the Thrift Store in Chillicothe and served as a docent at the Ross County Historical Society where she loved learning the history of Ross County and especially giving tours to the school children. Brenda always had a smile and a positive thing to say and was always thinking of what she could do for others. She loved sewing and gardening, raising plants and then giving them away to others to enjoy.
Friends are invited to join the family to Celebrate Brenda's Life on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm at the Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave. Chillicothe, OH 45601. A Celebration of Life will also be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, 61014 Groveport Road, Groveport, OH 43125 at 12:30 pm following Sunday worship service.
Instead of flowers or donations the family asks that you remember Brenda by going out and helping someone in need, whether it be money, emotional support, lending a helping hand or just showing someone the love that Brenda always showed to everyone.
