Robert Francis Stewart, age 83, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home.
Born December 8, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas to Francis Hamilton Stewart and Alice Elizabeth Bell Stewart, he is predeceased by his parents and a brother Peter Earl Stewart.
He is survived by his wife Vickie, sons Todd (Jennifer) Stewart, Norman Oklahoma, and Jamie (Krista) Stewart, Chillicothe, Ohio and sisters-in-law Judy Stewart of Pensacola, Florida and Dixie (Stillman) Starr of Chillicothe. Anyone who knew Bob, knows his grandchildren were a constant source of delight and pride. McKenzie (Justin) Tuttle, of Chillicothe, currently stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Lily and Ethan Stewart of Norman, Oklahoma, and Alec Stewart, of Chillicothe, Ohio, also survive. Also surviving and, important to Bob are nephews Peter and Nicholas (Angie) Stewart, Evan (Britney) Starr, and niece Rebecca (Dwight) Stewart Lein.
Bob owned Bob's Bootery for 49 and half years. He was first and foremost community minded and served on the Downtown Merchants Association. He was a charter member, Fire Chief, and 47-year member of the Union Township Fire Department and a member of Tyler Memorial Church. He taught numerous fire classes and trained many firefighters throughout several counties. He was Boy Scout leader and 4H advisor. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Unioto High School and attended Ohio University of Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Pastor Bruce Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call 4-7 pm Tuesday at Haller's.
