Beverly A. Smith, 83, of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord at 4:15am January 1, 2026, following an extended battle with cancer.

She was born September 3, 1942, in Ross County, to the late Stephen P. and Verena B. (Hill) Wright. On January 5, 1962, she married Larry R. Smith, who survives.

In addition to her beloved husband, Bev is survived by her children: Roberta A. (Shayne) Newman, of Columbus; Mark A. (Elizabeth) Smith and Chris (Janet) Smith, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Ashley Newman, Zachary (Stephanie) Newman, Matthew Smith, Cassandra Smith, Rachael Smith, Caleb Russell, Joshua Russell, Gabriel Hudson and Seth Hudson; great-grandchildren: Johnny Fuller, Peyton Ross, Tristan Newman and Isaac Newman; her sister Barbara (Gary) Lunde; sisters-in-laws Martha Wright, Claudia (Ron) Cockrell; brother-in-law Dave (Karen) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends, including neighbors: Bill and Carolyn and special friend, Twila Walters. Bev was predeceased by her parents; a great-grandson Tyson Smith; and brothers Allen (Lois), James (Barbara) and Stephen Wright.

Beverly was a graduate of Frankfort High School, Class of 1960. She had worked as an office manager for the Marshall University Foundation before retiring in 2002. The two most important things to Bev were her family and her faith and she celebrated both.

Following cremation, her graveside inurnment will be held at 11am, January 17, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where she will be placed with her great-grandson Tyson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: National Church Residence Hospice and Chillicothe Post Acute Center.
