Beverly Mitchell

Beverly S. Mitchell, 72, of Chillicothe, died at 3:57am March 16, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center.   She was born August 24, 1949, in Ross County to the late Marlyn and Rebecca "Goldie" (Manuel) Dotson.  On December 20, 1995, she married James V. Mitchell, who survives.   In addition to her husband Jim, Bev is survived by her children: Norman James Mitchell and his companion Sueellen Althouse, both of Chillicothe; Kelly Smith, Chillicothe, Betty Jo (Keith) Wipert, Bainbridge; step-sons Jamie McElwee and B.J. Mitchell, both of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Carol (Roger) Strouse, of Bainbridge, Valerie (Oscar) Sever, Chillicothe, and Melissa (Norman) Williams, Bainbridge; brother-in-law Gary Kalor, Hillsboro; and many nieces, nephews and friends, including a special friend Amy Sabo.  She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Marla (Mark) Beeler and Sandy Kalor; a brother Marlin "Tony" (Debbie) Dotson; and Ted Leeth whom she took care of for over 20 years.   Bev was a member of the Eagles Aerie 600, VFW Post 108, and the Moose Lodge 1626.  She worked as an aid and dedicated a large portion of her life to caring for Ted, who they thought of as their own.   Her funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, March 20, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Dane Knapp officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from Noon until 2pm Sunday at the funeral home.
