Betty Mae (White) Evans Trego, 86, of Chillicothe, died at 5:25am Friday, May 22, 2009, in Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. She was born May 21, 1923, in Circleville, OH, to the late Harold and Sarah White. On October 16, 1946, she married Ernest T. Evans, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 7, 1967. She later married Vernon E. Trego on June 30, 1968, who preceded her in death on November 4, 2006. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Linda and John Fout; her grandson Johnny Fout, all of Chillicothe; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Don Cruse, of Chillicothe; grandchildren Donnie and Christy Cruse, Jackson; great-grandchildren Parker and Donnie Cruse, Jackson; grandchildren Nick and Tiffany Cruse; son and daughter-in-law Pastor Rick and Lisa Evans; grandchildren Sarah and Ben Koch; great-granddaughter Jasmine Koch; granddaughters Emily Evans and Heidi Evans, all of Cleveland; a half-sister Kay (White) Sanders, of Alabama; step-children Joy and Don Huffman, of Pennsylvania; Ronnie Trego; and David and Madaline Trego, all of Chillicothe; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by a son Ernest T. Evans, Jr.; an infant grandson Josiah Evans; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Don Manson; brother and sister-in-law Harold, Jr. "Pat" and Evelyn White; and a niece Julie Elmer. Betty worked for her father at White Distributing and managing the Ohio Motel. Betty loved her family dearly and the annual family Christmas party was the highlight of her year. She loved outdoor activities and watching golf. Graveside services will be held at 6:00pm Sunday, May 24, in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Paul Winks officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 4:30-5:30pm at the Haller Funeral Home.
