Betty Jane Ray , 81, of Chillicothe, died 6:48 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born January 18, 1936 in Ross Co. to the late Gail Everett and Mary Belle (Detty) Cutright. On November 22, 1952 she married the love of her life, Harry F. "Fred" Ray, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2003. Surviving are four children, Laura Jane Thompson, William "Bill" (Valerie) Ray, Penny (Kevin) Pierce, and Johnny (Kim) Ray, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Chad (Kelly) Thompson, Tiffany (Matthew) McGee, Stacey (Shane) Bower, Justin Brake, Brandy (Derek) Gifford, Jami (Corbin) Tanner, Shiann Ray, and Jordyn (Austin Houser) Pierce; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Danika, Landon, Maddex and Malia; step-great-grandchildren, Michael and Mia; a sister-in-law, Patricia Kerns, of Alabama; friends, Paula Johnson and James "Red" (Betty) Oyer, all of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her half-brother, Robert Cutright; a son-in-law, Charles R. Thompson; a brother-in-law and his wife, Carl & Rubie Ray Jr.; and friend, Lloyd Johnson. Betty worked for many years at Donut Kastle as the baker. She loved to play bingo and bowling. She also loved watching Ohio State Football and NASCAR. Most of all, she loved spending time with family. She attended Hilltop Mission Church. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Tuesday at Haller's.
